چکیده

L EFLUNOMIDE (LEF), which suppresses both T and B cells, prolongs survival of heart xenografts in the concordant hamster to rat animal model. l However, xenotransplantation across discordant barriers is the most likely approach to solve the problem of organ shortage. By perfusing guinea pig livers with University of Wisconsin solution containing sodium nitroprusside, we have solved the problem of poor reperfusion of this organ when transplanted into rats.2 Accordingly, we tested the effect of LEF alone or in combination with tacrolimus (PK.) on survival of guinea pig to rat liver xenografts. Results were compared with those obtained following the use of cyclophosphamide (CyP) and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF).

Efficacy and safety of immunosuppressive medications for steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome in children: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Conventional meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials have shown inconsistent results regarding the efficacy of immunosuppressants for pediatric steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS). OBJECTIVE To conduct a network meta-analysis aimed at evaluating the efficacy and safety of available immunosuppressive agents in pediatric patients with SRNS. STUDY METHODS MEDLINE, the...

Conversion from tacrolimus/mycophenolic acid to tacrolimus/leflunomide to treat cutaneous warts in a series of four pediatric renal allograft recipients.

BACKGROUND The challenge of immunosuppression in pediatric renal transplantation is to balance preventing rejection while avoiding infectious complications. A dermatological complication of immunosuppression is viral warts, which cause significant disfigurement and increase the risk of skin malignancy. METHODS We present three pediatric and adolescent renal allograft recipients with multiple,...

اثربخشی مایکوفنولات موفتیل در درمان بیماران مبتلا به پمفیگوس ولگاریس مقاوم به درمان

Background and Aim: Pemphigus is one of the most common types of autoimmune blistering disease that requires systemic immunosuppressive therapy. Immunosuppressive therapy has improved the disease outcome in recent decades, but long-term use of them has side effects. Recently, it has been tried to evaluate immunosuppressive drugs with less side effects. One of them is mycophenolate mofetil. The ...

Immunosuppressive Treatment for Nephrotic Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy: A Meta-Analysis Based on Chinese Adults

BACKGROUND Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is the most common pathological type for nephrotic syndrome in adults in western countries and China. The benefits and harms of immunosuppressive treatment in IMN remain controversial. OBJECTIVES To assess the efficacy and safety of different immunosuppressive agents in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome caused by IMN. METHODS PubMed, EMBA...

New immunosuppressive drugs: mechanistic insights and potential therapeutic advances.

Together with CsA, the new macrolide immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin have proved to be valuable tools in providing new information about key molecular events that underlie lymphocyte activation and degranulation. Studies of their mechanisms of action have pinpointed the phosphatase calcineurin and protein kinases as important signaling mediators in T-cell activation. Other new immunosupp...
